The Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah announced the allocation of 471 prayer halls and mosques in the Emirate of Sharjah for Eid Al Fitr prayers, including 340 in Sharjah City and Al Hamriyah area, 57 in the Central Region, and 74 in the Eastern Region. The department allocated a number of prayer halls and mosques for non-Arabic speakers, including Urdu, Malayalam, Tamil, and English. The department stressed the necessity for worshippers to adhere to precautionary measures, bring their own prayer rug, wear a mask, and apply physical distancing between worshippers, while confirming the continued closure of women’s prayer halls and other service facilities in the emirate’s mosques. Prayers will be held at 05:51 AM in Sharjah and Al Hamriya, at 05:50 AM in Al Dhaid and Al Bataeh, at 05:51 AM in Al Madam and Maliha, and at 05:48 AM in the Eastern Region. As part of its celebration of the International Day of Happiness, the Sharjah Islamic Affairs organized a number of activities and events at its headquarters in Al Rahmaniya suburb to create an atmosphere of joy and happiness for employees, in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments in Sharjah, His Excellency Abdullah Khalifa Yarouf Al Sabousi, Director of the Department of Islamic Affairs in Sharjah, officials and employees of the Islamic Affairs, and a number of imams and muezzins.
